Sri Lanka's Unemployment dropped to 3.9%

Unemployment rate has dropped to 3.9% percent in the 2nd quarter of this year. Data released by the Department of Census and Statistics of Sri Lanka said that the economically active population of the country amounted to eight point three million in the 2nd quarter and 67 percent of them were males and 33 percent females.

 A significant achievement is that this survey has also covered details relating to the Northern Province. Officials from the Department said that peace and harmony now prevailing in the Northern Province helped them to make the survey to cover the whole country.
